2007 Friends Photo Contest Winners Announced, 2008 Contest Begins
Forty-eight photographers submitted a total of 205 photos to the 2007 Friends Photo Contest, including a record seven photographers in the Youth Category. According to volunteer judge Blaine Rothauser: "Judging gets tougher and tougher every year; the quality is increasing, yet there is a unique diversity." Winners of the 2007 Photo Contest were announced at the September Fall Festival.
The 2008 Refuge Photo Contest Is Under Way!
Photos must be taken on the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge during the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. For more details and an entry form, download the Photo Contest flyer.
The Friends of Great Swamp would like to thank all of the photographers who submitted such a wide variety of pictures of the refuge and its wildlife. These photographs become part of the Friends' digital library; photos from prior years have been used in publications, for displays and exhibits, and many photos appear in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge video which we use for orientation, group tours, and volunteer training.
